Why haven't I updated.... until now.

Oh geez. I made a promise to myself that I would start blogging..... I didn't.

Such a nasty habit of writing letters, doing this and that,... but waiting almost forever to actually send it out. I got cards, postcards. They're all in a ziplock bag, I was going to add the updated addresses/emails to my address book. I was going to add all the email/text contacts to my Blackberry. But I haven't yet come around to that. *Slap self* I gotta roll up my sleeve and get back into it. Heck even my room looks like a cyclone went thru it. Papers everywhere, laundry not put away. I took down my closet doors, smiled at the space it seemed to create in the room, but did nothing else to make it much more organized. Help. This weekend... wait it's Mother Day's.... ok next weekend... ugh that's my birthday weekend.... oh crap. I better find the time to do it, yet I have more time than I did last year... eh, at least I'm waking up earlier than I was a few weeks ago, that's an improvement.

So what have I been up to?

In Decemeber through January, I was in Jordan. Yes, Jordan in the Middle East. Before you start freaking out, it was GREAT. Jordan is on the list of places you must VISIT! It's one of the safest countries in the ME, and has one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. I visited it - Petra. Oh man, it was awesome. I would go back and insist to make a weekend out of it. Camp there, because we (me and my man) did not get to see everything yet. How would I describe Jordan in general.... well, it's simply amazing, you have to be there to understand. While I saw some things that make it comparable to another country, it is just not the same. Different world, different culture, different customs. Luckily I did some reading (even through I asked questions before I went there, I find reading guides very useful), and since I'm regarded to be highly observative, I quickly picked up on what was appropriate versus what was not. I, as an American, don't want to insult anyone! Seems the SO's family quickly warmed up upon my arrival, and they have been wonderful to me. Food is great -- I was glad I was there for a long trip (3 weeks) as opposed to a short one, because if it was short I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much (yes, I had traveler's issues).

Since I got back, I had to get used to the EXTRA time I have since I left my accounting job at end of November. I missed working in that, but at the same time I don't. I struggled financially, but survived okay. Paid my taxes. Have to deal with a certain government branch (still am) -- so that particular thing is the only thing stressing me out. Bought a new car - a nifty 2008 Honda Civic. I resigned from DPHH due to personal reasons -- and have kept a pretty low profile.

Joined the 3 Day Walk for Breast Cancer -- "Deaf in Pink" team. We'll be walking in San Diego at the end of November. So I have been walking a lot. Fundraised, and helping my teammates reach their goals too.

It's already May, and time certainly has gone by way too quickly. I LOVE May for several reasons: the semester at Saddleback ends (not that it excites me, but it relieves me in a way), my Birthday is this month, and I look forward to ASDIP Weekend in Sonora, California. Then I go to House Ear Institute Family Camp the first weekend of June. Weekends just always busy, it's great! (not so for the mess in my room)

So that's the update! Let's hope it continues.
